CAPTAIN – Romain Mouchel – French
Sail & Work Experience:
Romain has been working on yachts since his days as a deckhand in 2010, quickly rising through the ranks to become a Captain on S/Y AEGIR just two years later. He holds a range of experience in both cruising and racing, acting as a proficient team player and hard worker in all instances. Romain relies on his confidence, punctuality and motivation whilst sailing, successfully participating in a range of prestigious regattas including the Rolex Middle Sea Race and RORC Caribbean 600. Throughout his career, Romain has developed excellent interpersonal skills and consistently delivers professional and welcoming charters for all guests.

Romain is responsible for the navigation, safety, the overall running and financial management of the vessel, crew and guests. He always ensures the safe and efficient operation of the yacht, including compliance with all safety procedures and regulations. Romain takes care of adhering to flag regulations, port, state, and local laws, and manages the crew to ensure adherence to, and a full understanding of, the vessel’s policies. He provides daily leadership for the crew and encourages teamwork, individual growth, and personal attention by delegating duties and supervising all crew tasks.

Sailing all around the world, Julien has learning organisation and teamwork, ideal skills to possess when working on deck aboard ATALANTE.

Julien has the expertise required to stand in for Captain in his absence, acting as second in command. He assists the captain during navigation and participates in all on-deck operations, respecting guest’s activities. He has extensive knowledge of sailing yachts maintenance and is responsible for the running of deck equipment and machinery.

Trained in culinary arts in the UK, she is excited to join S/Y ATALANTE for the upcoming charter season.

In charge of the galley and is responsible for all guests and crew meals, assuring a rich variety of food. Jordan estimates food needs, reviews inventory assuring adequate supplies are available, sticking to budget and guests’ expectations. Carries out food service activities in order to have meals prepared at scheduled times and makes sure she complies with health regulations. Thanks to her creativity, she develops new recipes and ways of serving food in order to satisfy different guests’ wishes.
