Crew Profile

Jos started working in 2006 on sailing yachts in Cape Town doing day trips across Table Bay from the V&A Waterfront. During the same time period Chrizaan was managing a Scuba diving shop right across from where S/V Spirit of Victoria was docked. As fate would have it their love for the ocean drew them together and stories of wonderful opportunities abroad started filling their heads. One year later they started working together on Soulmate, a privately owned 44ft catamaran that was based in Turkey. From there they did two week trips up and down the Turkish coast as well as the Greek Islands. Jos and Chrizaan were hooked on the yachting life and all of the experiences and adventures it brought along with it.
After 5 years aboard Soulmate sailing the Mediterranean, Jos and Chrizaan set their sights on the Caribbean and soon ended up at The Moorings shortly after getting married. Here they started running a 62ft Leopard for 6 months followed by one of the new 58ft Leopards, Happy Hours II, for one year. After this they moved onto Soon Come, a 62 ft Sunreef. At this stage they had already done 150+ weeks of charters together.
The latest chapter in their yachting career is moving to the beautifully eye catching 61.5 ft Privilege catamaran Xenia. Jos and Chrizaan, together with Xenia, makes a team that needs to be experienced to fully understand how years of experience, deep love for the water and a luxury yacht work together.
Chrizaan grew up running around her fathers restaurant and his passion for food has rubbed off on her. She takes pride in the dishes she prepares and always takes everyone's dietary requirements into consideration when designing your menu. Add to that the fact that she has been preparing amazing dishes out of small galleys for the past 7 years, you can rest assured that she will exceed your requirements, and her meals always ends up being the center of attention on their charters. She also has her certification from the Ashburton Chefs Academy. Chrizaan loves being underwater and enjoys taking guests snorkeling and pointing out all the wonderful sea life. Children enjoy learning from her and she always encourages them to take part.
On the other hand Jos is quite comfortable staying at sea level and his biggest passion which initially lured him into the yachting industry is surfing. During his time in the BVI he has already found the best breaks and you would not have to twist his arm much for him to share them. You dont need to be a surfer to have fun on the water as he always encourages water sports which range from tubing to wake skating.

There is no doubt that you will have one of, if not the best holiday of your lives aboard Xenia paired with the crew of Jos and Chrizaan. Come and experience for yourself why guests always return for more!
