Daniel is a 2001 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. With experiences in upscale catering at Fabulous Foods in Rye, New York and completing his externship at the pioneering farm to table restaurant The Lark Creek Inn in Larkspur, California under chef Bradley Ogden. Upon graduation he became the executive chef at Savannahs Restaurant in Huntington, West Virginia at the age of 22, and brought upscale world flavors to this small restaurant housed in a 100 year old Victorian home.Daniel had the privilege to pair 5 course wine dinners for 50 people twice a year to a standing ovation as well as seasonally changing the menu. Eventually getting the wanderlust bug in 2003, he then moved to Key West, Florida and worked at some of the islands various restaurants. But it was at the world renown restaurant Louies Backyard, under executive chef Doug Shook and chef de cuisine Tim Lyons, did he find a rewarding, learning and challenging position cooking South Floridian cuisine with ocean to table ingredients. This upscale restaurant exposed him to amazing seafood in a sustainable manner, and broadened his cooking repertoire, building upon the fundamentals he learned at culinary school. Later in 2007, Daniel accepted the chef de cuisine position at Santiagos Bodega, a small boutique tapas restaurant that has since become a huge success with locals and travelers alike.
In October of 2008, Daniel decided to move and advance his career as a hospitality professional and embarked upon the world of luxury yachts. This is where his cuisine styles really started to come together and refined his palate for the chef he is striving to become.
