Captain Jackson Haley and Chef Chelsea Lashua

Captain Jackson and Chef Chelsea hail from Westminster, Massachusetts and over the past 6 years have transformed into a enthusiastic, highly experienced and capable team. Their passion for the outdoors, sailing and travel have culminated into a winning combination on the S/Y Sweetest Thing.

Chelsea Lashua describes herself as having a strong passion for people and places. Her love of travel and food comes from a childhood of family vacations, sailing up and down the New England coast and spending weeks at a time cruising the crystal waters of the BVIs. In college, Chelsea studied Communications with an emphasis on Tourism and Hospitality management. It was during her Junior year that she spent a semester abroad in Italy and for 3 months, she participated in coursework as well as many Italian cooking classes. This experience, combined with 5+ years of experience in the high end restaurant industry, has instilled Chelsea with the proper tools to offer a first class vacation experience. She loves to cook everything and anything, and while her favorite meals to prepare involve seafood, Chef Chelsea combines her cooking knowledge with a uniquely-styled creative touch to create stunning results. Other interests of Chelseas include SCUBA, volunteering in the community a!nd simply being outside.

Captain Jackson wears many hats. His titles include fish biologist, dive master, diesel mechanic, eco-tour guide and all-around adventurer. Hailing from coastal New England, Jacksons fascination with the sea was cultivated at a young age. He spent summers on the water, teaching sailing and guiding tours, and when he wasnt sailing, Jackson could be found working the docks, learning maintenance and honing his craft. He received a BS in Fish and Water Sciences from UMass in 2013. Later that year, the couple moved to San Diego, where Jackson earned his 50GT Captains License and went on to operate dive boats, manage a fleet of over 70 watercraft and in his spare time, lead educational kayak and bicycle tours in the bay area. Jacksons vast background and love for the outdoors, education and sailing promises guests with a captain that is as informative as he is interesting!!

When their powers combine, Jackson and Chelsea form a team that offers a comprehensive vacation experience to guests of all ages. Together, they provide their guests with first-class sailing vacations and combine their extensive backgrounds to offer a one of a kind experience that can only be found on S/Y Sweetest Thing!
