Crew Profile

Captain Cactus and Betsy Bryan have been successfully chartering their Tall Ship Talofa for nearly 15 years in many beautiful places in the world. She tragically sank last May in the Caribbean. However, their love of sailing and sharing the amazing environment with others in the Virgin Islands remains their passion.

They are happy to announce that they recently purchased S/V Stargazer, which can allow them to continue providing the first class adventure and experiences that the Caribbean has to offer. Join them aboard their 75' Irwin for the Vacation of a lifetime!

Kristi Marquart is so excited to represent the beautiful Stargazer as your first mate, sous-chef, and naturalist. Kristi holds a 50-ton USCG Captains License and has spent four years working aboard charter boats throughout the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Her bachelors degree in Environmental Science paired with her local knowledge about landmarks and wildlife make her an entertaining guide to the area. In addition to her nautical experience, Kristi also has an extensive background in the restaurant industry. She loves to provide genuine hospitality and is passionate about creating memorable experiences with those around her.

Brad Marquart received his first taste of oceanic life after college, when he joined a commercial fisheries management consultancy in Alaska and worked on 12 fishing vessels out of Dutch Harbor and Juneau. After a few years in Denver, Colorado working as an environmental scientist, he and Kristi sold everything and set out to reconnect with the sea. Brad joins the Stargazer crew as a second mate and naturalist. His background as a scientist and his inquisitive mind makes him an enthusiastic guide to the Caribbean, both above and below the waters surface. He is always up for adventure and will be available to make your stay more exciting and thought provoking.
