Captain Leigh Yeoman
New Zealand

Leigh started his formal yachting career in 2004 with the interest in getting out to sea having brewed for years prior. Sailing has been a way of life for him longer than his years in yachting. As a youngster, he twice lead in the top 10 for his country in surfing and was elected for a reserve position for the New Zealand squad. Leigh began early with firm sailing interest by studying racing and rigging at entry level to University. Much of his experience outside of yachting has also involved the hospitality industry/ hotel management for over 10 years which has provided him with a good understanding of the service side of yachting making him well rounded as a Captain.

Since working aboard yachts Leigh has been fortunate to have experienced a large cruising ground, including ice navigation through the NW passage, the Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean, North Sea and the Mediterranean on sailing and motor yachts primarily 47m and above. Leigh is a hands on kind of Captain with a good engineering skills as well as navigational skills, while he holds an MCA Master 200T license and Chief Mate license up to 3000T. Much of Leigh's experience has been aboard large private yachts that traveled extensively with regular rotation of guests. He is sure to make your cruise a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience that will make will make you want to come back for more.
