Crew Profile

Jacques Broodryk - Captain

Education/Certifications: Master 3000 UK License, 200 ton US Coast Guard License; BBA in Accounting; Licensed Dive instructor.
Languages Spoken: English and Afrikaans

Jacques hails from a coastal town just outside of Cape Town in South Africa, right in the heart of the wine region. As a child, he spent his days at the beach surfing, diving, fishing, or boating with his father. He’s loved boating from a young age, and after working for two years as a forensic accountant in London, England, he left city life behind and returned to his roots. In 2002, he started working on large sailing yachts and then transitioned into motor yachts, working on charters in the Mediterranean for five years. His career took him to Madagascar, where he managed a charter company, and to an expedition yacht, where he traveled a circumnavigation before he settled into working on ODIN in the Western Atlantic to be close to his wife and children. Jacques spends his leisure time surfing, diving, fishing, and spending time with his family on camping trips, bike rides, and even tea parties. Of all the places he’s seen around the world, Indonesia is his favorite with its legendary surf.

Felicity Dodsley - Chief Stew

Education/Certifications: Master of Arts (Hons) in Modern History, University of St Andrews, Scotland; STCW, Rib Master, PDSD, Food Safety, GUEST 1.
Languages Spoken: English

Felicity was born in the southern English village of Great Bedwyn where she lived until she moved to New York at the age of 16. She returned to the UK for university and after her graduation, she headed to Florida to start a career in yachting. She brings more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry to her role on ODIN, including two years as a bartender in Scotland, and as Stewardess on M/Y Starship and M/Y Daybreak. Her greatest passion is learning, whether it’s reading a book on a subject that interests her, or trying a new activity. She also loves travel, especially visits to her family in England and Spain. At the conclusion of each adventure, Felicity is always happy to return home to her idyllic flat in Fort Lauderdale and sit back on her balcony.

Tracey James - Chef

Education/Certifications: STCW, Open Water Dive, Cert 3 Commercial Cookery; 4-year Chef Apprenticeship

Tracey James is from a small coastal town in Queensland, Australia and spent her childhood rock climbing, camping, and swimming in creeks and water holes. An accomplished chef, she worked for 10 years in restaurants across the UK and Australia, including two Michelin-starred establishments. She also ran two remote mining camps in Australia before embarking on a career in yachting, and spent two years as a freelance chef on yachts in the United States, Mexico, Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Australia. Being part of the team aboard ODIN allows Tracey to travel and run her own galley while meeting new people from around the world and expanding her culinary knowledge. While Australia always holds a special place in her heart, she has loved traveling to Prague and Canada. In her leisure time, Tracey enjoys dining out, exploring new places, and hearing the stories of the people she crosses paths with.
