Newly refinished in 2016, Marcato is a custom-built expedition yacht with the unique ability to offer long-range cruising. with comfortable accommodations for twelve guests, in five staterooms.

Once boarding Marcato, you’ll find the aft outdoor dining deck with shaded seating for twelve. The Salon is just steps away through a glass slider door.

MAIN DECK
Main salon: The first of two lounges, the Salon includes soft, comfortable seating, finished in peaceful tones. Full service bar, game table, nearby day head, and media center. Circle staircases lead to lower guest staterooms and upper decks.
Dining Room: Offset from the Salon, and finished in rich wood accents, the Dining Room can seat up to 12.

LOWER DECK
4 beautifully appointed guest staterooms,
Lower deck aft - 2 cabins with a queen sized bed.
Lower deck fwd - 2 cabins with queen sized bed + fixed single bed (triple cabins),
Each cabin features ensuite shower rooms, functional desk individual climate control, and large wardrobe.
Workout Room: Conveniently located near Guest Staterooms, the Workout Room features rowing machine, free weights and can be transferred into a massage/beauty room..

UPPER DECK
Master Suite: Located fwd on its own private deck, Marcato’s Master Suite with deep mahogany wood tones, King bed, ceiling beams, wardrobe. Adjoining Master ensuite, large shower, twin sinks.
Sky Lounge: can be reached by the circular staircase from the Salon and features comfortable couches, service bar and day head. Glass slider opes to the Sky Deck.

TOP DECK
Sky Deck: A beautifully appointed deck with generous and luxurious couches and chairs.

Sun Deck: large sun pad seating, shaded full-service bar with seating, large spa pool.

Yacht has special dispensation for cruising with up to 36 guests, and can host dockside events for up to 200 guests.

CAPTAIN: Jason Halvorsen - American

Capt. Jason ran the popular charter yacht M/Y Camarino Royale in the Bahamas and Caribbean for the last 2.5 years with a heavy charter schedule of 6-8 weeks per season. All successful charters with referrals!

Captain Jason’s passion for travel began at a very young age and growing up in Fort Lauderdale by the age of 5 he was passionate for the ocean too. Whilst at High school, he attended Marine Tech School studies and managed to complete a Marine Mechanics Degree whilst juggling his regular studies. Jason was working on yachts by 16, and earned his first Captains license at 19. Jason started his career on commercial charter and sightseeing boats, and by 21 was the 1st Mate/ 2nd Captain of a 500-passenger commercial boat in New York City. During his busy career Jason has owned a yacht management company, has been captain on private and charter yachts, commercially towed, and has also been a salvage master. When Jason has time off the water he enjoys traveling with his wife and young daughter, in the US and Europe as often as his busy schedule allows. At home in the US Jason enjoys customizing and restoring old cars and motor cycles but his biggest passion of all is food, cooking it, eating it and travelling to restaurants to experience and learn new techniques. Jason’s diverse experiences and interests inside and out of the yachting industry makes him a friendly, versatile, and dynamic member of the crew aboard M/Y Marcato. Captain Jason aspires to give all guests on board an exceptional experience.

FIRST OFFICER: Adam Paul - American

Adam is originally from Australia and since he joined the yachting industry in 1999 he has logged up some considerable sea miles, working himself up the career ladder from
deckhand to Chief Officer and gaining valuable experience on yachts such as MY Just Enough (140’ Broward) and MY Relentless (110’ Kingship).
Adam has the qualifications of 200 ton Yachtmaster Offshore he is also a Naui Open Water Diver. Sportive and dynamic Adam loves fitness, diving, wakeboarding and of
course travel!

CHEF: Marc James Melanson – American

With more than 20 years of culinary experience, and as a skilled mixologist, Marc’s menus and creations never fail to impress. His cuisine styles stretch across French, American, Asian, Italian, vegetarian, gluten free and beyond, all accrued over years of work in a variety of upscale restaurants and hotels.
Marc has won numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, including winner of the Live Truck Cook Off with Good Morning America and Best New Restaurant award (Metro W. Boston) at “Avenue”.
With a passion for spear fishing, Marc was happy to set a personal catch season record whilst working on board the 168ft fishing vessel “BOUNTIFUL” based in the Bering Sea, where he was responsible for all seafood processing. In 2017, Marc’s spirit of adventure led him to make a new career choice, where he joined the expedition yacht MARCATO. Marc is eager to share his culinary talents and the variety of his cuisine.

CHIEF STEWARDESS: Kari MacChesney - Canadian

Kari hails from Toronto, Canada, and having trained as a ESL (English as a foreign Language) teacher she spent 2 years in Taiwan teaching before heading to Fiji where she worked as a dive instructor. In 2010, her diving took her to the Caribbean as a stewardess/dive Instructor on-board MY Miracle, since then she has experienced great success as a stewardess on busy charter vessels such as MY Grand Mariana, MY Lionshare and MY Dream Weaver.
Kari is very excited to have joined MY Marcato and looking forward to being on-board a busy charter yacht.

DECKHAND: Reilly Strand - American

Reilly was introduced to the yachting industry in the Summer of 2015 and is proud of the experience he has gained so far working on-board yachts such as MY Party Girl
(146’ Christensen) and MY Grand Marina (144’ Benetti). A keen team player, Reilly loves sport and in particular diving, also swimming and paddle boarding, hiking and cycling.
Joining the MY Marcato in 2017 he is thriving on all that the yacht has to offer.
