Crew Profile

Captain Freddie and his crew are looking forward to welcoming you on board Good Vibrations. They will cater to your requests and are happy to change itineraries and "go with the flo" as a flexible crew able to adapt itineraries and meal plans to guests requests and preferences as the charter progresses.

Captain : Frederick Altenhoven
Captain Freddie is an experienced, yet very relaxed captain with an approachable personality and fantastic sailing skills. He has been sailing in the Caribbean for the past 3 years on charters after arriving each year via the Atlantic and has grown up on family boats and sailing since a child. Freddie graduated with a degree and then decided to teach yachting. He progressed to a Yachtmaster Instructor at a fairly young age and since then he started managing and training new captains in the Greece, Croatia and the UK. After a two year period in New Zealand as a charter captain and engineer on yachts he has now moved back to the Caribbean to captain yacht Good Vibrations full time.

Freddie is the ideal captain for guests who want to take part in the sailing or learn on their charter. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of the area and the boat and is more than happy to let anyone on board have a go at the sails, the helm or the dinghy (with supervision nearby!). For families with young children, he is bound to keep everyone busy and for couples wanting peace and quiet, Freddie and his crew are attentive and eager to please yet quiet and discreet when privacy may be preferred.

Freddie's hobbies include climbing, maintenance, diving, hiking, travelling and of course sailing. He is always exploring new places by yacht and is bound to find an anchorage or secluded bay during the week that others may not come across.
