Crew Profile

Jeff Hurd and his chef/mate welcome you aboard DRUMBEAT 1 for the vacation of a lifetime!

Jeff hails from Colorado where he was born and raised. Jeff has a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology where he spent two years living with traditional cultures throughout the world. Before coming to the beautiful Caribbean, he held a faculty position at Colorado State University where he made documentary films for five years. He is the owner and captain of DRUMBEAT 1 and holds a 100 ton Master Mariners License. He is also a PADI certified scuba diver and private pilot. Jeff’s enjoys sharing with guests his extensive knowledge of the islands and his many adventures!
Captain Jeff and his crew are there to make your vacation aboard DRUMBEAT 1 the time of your life.

Timothy (Timmy) Pate was born in Anchorage, AK, but now considers the Drumbeat 1 as “home”. She started out as a pantry chef for Simon and Seaforts, but has worked at various other five star restaurants where she learned to harness both worldly tastes and health into culinary works of art. She continued her education and schooling in AK and in WA state, getting licensed and nationally certified as a pharmacy technician. She has worked as a paralegal as well as started her own green cleaning company in Alaska.
She is an avid fisher woman and loves the outdoors. On, or in, the water is where she loves to be and is delighted to be part of the crew on the Drumbeat 1. She is new to the Carribean but not the water, and is as excited and enthusiastic as any guest, in experiencing what wonders and sights this magical area has to offer, ones made even more acceptional aboard the Drumbeat 1.

Jeff and Timmy are joined by "Pepper", a small coconut retriever.
