Yacht Description

With a name that conveys delight, DELICIA is just that – a delight in every sense of the word! She is a magnificent 2015 Lagoon 450 catamaran, and arrived in the Caribbean for charters in December 2015.

DELICIA features multiple fabulous lounge areas the Flybridge, the Aft Deck, the Main Salon, and the Foredeck Lounge. The Flybridge is accessed with steps leading from the aft deck. The helmsman has maximum visibility from this raised steering platform which also has easy access to the sheets and running rigging. Its a great location offering space for safe operation of the yacht. There’s a spacious seating area as well as sunbathing lounge directly forward of the steering station. Of course, the view of the surrounding scenery from the Flybridge is truly delightful!

Forward of the cabin house and just aft of the trampolines, DELICIA features the unique Foredeck Lounge area a favorite of many and a great space to enjoy a refreshing lunch or a delicious cocktail.

The interior of the yacht, designed by the Italian specialist, Nauta Yachts, is simply gorgeous. The overall design maximizes space and adds lots of luxurious touches such as indirect lighting, a hideaway cabinet for the flat-screen TV, and clever catches for the drawers and lockers. When the sliding doors are open to the aft deck, theres virtually no separation between the interior saloon and the exterior living area – it’s one big, open space!

Located in both hulls are luxurious Queen guest cabins offering luxurious accommodations best suited for six guests, and up to eight guests with the crew sharing use of one bathroom.

DELICIA is fully air-conditioned throughout.

Last not but not least, DELICIA is a magnificent sailing yacht. Her amazing Code Zero headsail pushes the boat with a light breeze to a speed faster than that of the wind, to her guests’ delight!

Note – the video is from Lagoon and portrays a different model with a large master, whereas Delicia has 4 equal cabins.

Crew Profile

Dylan cant remember a time when he wasnt on the beach challenging the waves on a surfboard or exploring under the sea. He grew up on the sunny shores of Durban and Cape Town, South Africa, in a community of yachtsmen. As children, Dylan and his friends went to boat socials at the local yacht club. They heard stories of sailing and racing, and met people that proved to be inspirational. Dylan says that from a young age he knew he too would be a sailor one day. It is little surprise that as an adult, once he started sailing, he fell in love with the open ocean and set a course to become a captain.

Dylan is certified as RYA Yacht Master and RYA Coastal Skipper. In addition, he qualified in Advanced Lifeguard Rescue Boat and Helicopter Crew Man and Advanced First Aid. He believes safety is paramount on board and guests always feel secure in his capable command. Dylan has also worked as a childrens counsellor, lifeguard and rescue crew man. Whether his charter guests are families with children, first time sailors, or Old Salts, Dylan makes everyone feel welcome and at ease.

As a captain, Dylan enjoys hoisting the sails and taking guests to his favorite fishing and diving spots, hiking and biking trails, and attractions throughout the British Virgin Islands. He is a patient teacher for guests who want to try their hand at the helm, trim the sails, explore on Delicias stand up paddle board or two-man kayak. For those who want to soak up the Caribbean sun, Dylan knows the best sand beaches and the most fun beach bars in the Caribbean. He says, You will always feel safe and if you ever want to get involved, please join in and have fun. There will never be a dull moment on my boat.

For Chelsea, being a superb chef is in the blood. She has the great fortune to have a father who is a chef, currently running a restaurant in the UK. Chelsea grew up on the east coast of South Africa very close to the Mozambican border. Her dad was a big inspiration for her to become a professional chef. She learned his tricks of the trade, especially how to create amazing meals with simple ingredients. Raised on great food, in the kitchen of a pro, has made her a remarkable chef.

Chelsea has always been eager for new challenges and experiences. She competed in some tough sports as a child, like field hockey and touch rugby. She worked as a safari guide in the eastern cape of South Africa. (Ask her about injecting a wildebeest.) After working in the bush she accepted a position as manager of a small coffee shop. The shop owner hired her to be the tutor for his son aboard his private catamaran. Chelsea discovered her love of yachting and never looked back.

For Chelsea, being a chef is important, but so is getting to know the guests to help create an unforgettable vacation. She serves delicious dishes, like Mediterranean fish, ribs with sticky BBQ sauce, creamed spinach gnocchi, crispy chicken and some really good cocktails. She loves animals and kids, playing the guitar and kiteboarding. She also loves fire dancing. She says, Its a really fun experience for charter guests. I set up night time beach parties for them where I spin fire. Imagine that experience on a tropical island beneath a trillion stars.
